The Wolfson Law Firm Biographies
Ken Wolfson began practicing law in 1982 with Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and began specializing in real estate law in 1983. In 1987, he was one of the founding attorneys of Pettis Tester Kruse & Krinsky. When that firm dissolved in 1994, Ken joined Latham & Watkins as an equity partner and practiced at Latham & Watkins until forming The Wolfson Law Firm in August of 2009.
Ken's primary clients are developers of real estate projects. His clients include retail developers, residential developers, commercial developers and office developers. Ken Wolfson has expertise on the transactional side, as well as statutory development agreements, community facilities districts and land use issues. He also has substantial experience with joint venture arrangements, purchase and sale transactions, leasing transactions, conventional financings, shopping center developments and business park developments. He has been the primary counsel for the development of the 2,743 acre mixed use community of Foothill Ranch in Lake Forest, California, the 5,000 acre mixed use community of Rancho Santa Margarita in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and the 400 acre commercial/industrial business park of Ocean Ranch in Oceanside, California. He has also been integrally involved in the development of the 1,087 acre Playa Vista planned community in Los Angeles, California. In addition, Ken has negotiated several disposition and development agreements and is counsel for the redevelopment of George Air Force Base (now known as Southern California Logistics Airport) as an international air cargo center with surrounding commercial/industrial development encompassing an estimated 5,000 acres, and he is also counsel for the redevelopment of Tustin Air Base in Tustin, California.
Additionally, Ken Wolfson served on the Board of Directors (and served as the Chairman of the Board for 2 years) of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. He also currently serves on the Governance Committee and the Finance Committee of Memorial Health Systems, as well as on the Strategic Planning Committee for Saddleback and Orange Coast Hospitals.
While Ken has continued his philanthropic support of the University of Texas School of Law throughout his legal career, he chose to fund The Wolfson Family Endowed Scholarship in Law an Educational Excellence Scholarship at the University of Texas School of Law in December of 2013.

Taren Weber has worked in real estate law since 1980. Taren completed her Associates’ degree in 1982 and began working as a residential real estate paralegal in St. Petersburg, Florida. Upon relocating to Southern California, she joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in 1985 supporting various members of the Real Estate and Corporate Departments. She began supporting Mr. Wolfson’s real estate practice at Pettis, Tester, Kruse & Krinsky in 1991 and moved with Mr. Wolfson to Latham & Watkins in 1994. Taren’s real estate experience and knowledge earned her a promotion to Real Estate Paralegal at Latham & Watkins in 2000, and she completed her Paralegal Certificate at the University of California, Irvine, in 2001. Taren moved in-house with The Home Depot’s Real Estate Legal Department in 2004, until reuniting with Mr. Wolfson when forming The Wolfson Law Firm in August of 2009. Taren continues to work with Mr. Wolfson as a contract paralegal.
Taren’s paralegal experience includes commercial and industrial real estate for single and multi-site transactions, including preparation of documents and extensive title and survey review. Taren’s in-house experience broadened her knowledge to include resolution of portfolio management and lease administration issues while interfacing with landlords, third parties and municipalities.
